This serving platter was made in the mid-19th century in England by Beech and Hancock. It features a colorful, intricate chinoiserie design of a child offering fruit to an Emperor and Empress surrounded by lush flowers and trees. It is ironstone china, transfer printed and then hand-finished in beautiful contrasting colors of red and greens.

Marked on the reverse side with the makers "B&H" - Beech and Hancock - and the pattern name "Pekin.”

This serving platter is grand and delicate at the same time.
